Product Care

To preserve the elegance and longevity of your Sunday Mahjong™ pieces, we recommend the following care practices. With proper attention, your collection will remain beautiful and refined for years to come.

Apparel

  • Machine wash cold, inside-out, on a gentle cycle with mild detergent and similar colors.
  • Garment-dyed items should be washed separately until fully colorfast.
  • Use non-chlorine bleach only when necessary.
  • Avoid fabric softeners, which may compromise prints.
  • Hang dry whenever possible for best preservation, especially for embroidered items. Embroidered apparel should not be placed in the dryer.
  • Do not iron or dry clean.

Note: Care labels do not account for our specialized printing and embroidery processes. High heat may cause fading or cracking. We recommend washing new pieces separately for the first wash.

Hats

  • Spot clean with a damp cloth whenever possible.
  • If deeper cleaning is needed, hand wash gently in cold water. Avoid using brushes.

Drinkware

  • Ceramic mugs: Microwave and dishwasher safe, though hand washing will best preserve the finish. Handle with care to avoid scratches.
  • Glassware: Not microwave or dishwasher safe. Hand wash only.

Mahjong Tiles

Our tiles are designed to be both functional and artful. Treat them with the same care you would give to any heirloom piece.

  • Store tiles in their case when not in use to prevent scratches or dust accumulation.
  • Clean tiles gently with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive sponges, or soaking in water.
  • Do not submerge tiles in water, as this may affect finishes or inlays.
  • Keep tiles away from direct sunlight or extreme heat, such as inside a vehicle, to prevent warping, fading, or discoloration.

Slight variations in color, finish, or pattern are part of the artisan-crafted process. These unique distinctions are a hallmark of their character and are not considered defects.

Mahjong Mats

  • Roll mats for storage with the playing surface facing outward. Do not fold, as this may cause permanent creases.
  • For full cleaning, machine wash on gentle cycle in cold water with mild detergent; tumble dry low or air dry completely before rolling.
  • For quick touch-ups, spot clean with a mild soap solution and a soft cloth.
  • Allow to air dry completely before rolling for storage.
  • Keep mats away from extreme heat, prolonged moisture, and direct sunlight to maintain color and texture.
  • Do not leave mats in a hot vehicle, as heat can cause bubbling or warping.

Tablecloths

  • Machine wash cold; tumble dry low heat.
  • Do not iron or dry clean.
  • Some natural creasing can occur during shipping. Just spritz lightly with water and tumble dry on low heat for a few minutes to refresh.

Playing Cards

  • Handle cards with clean, dry hands to maintain finish and color.
  • Store cards in a protective case or box when not in use.
  • Avoid bending, folding, or exposure to liquids.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight to preserve print quality.

Periodic Care & Inspection

Taking a few moments to care for your pieces regularly will help them stay pristine.

  • Wipe tiles and mats periodically to remove dust or light debris.
  • Inspect for signs of wear, such as loose stitching or minor marks, and address concerns early to prevent damage.
  • If you notice unusual changes, contact us at support@sundaymahjong.com for guidance.

Storage & Handling

  • Store all products in a cool, dry environment away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
  • Avoid stacking heavy objects on top of mats or tiles.
  • Use padded or protective cases when traveling with your collection.
  • Keep food and beverages away from your playing area to preserve the integrity of your pieces.
